  • Shopping

London is a paradise for shopaholics! In every street and every alleyway, a shopping surprise awaits you. The city’s most famous shopping street is of course Oxford Street, and here you will find multi-storey shops of many well-known brands, such as H&M and Topshop, as well as special products by a range of different brands. If you prefer to do your shopping in smaller boutiques, try Regent Street, Bond Street, Tottenham Court Road, Covent Garden, Soho or Charing Cross Road. Head to Camden Town to get a look at some alternative styles and interesting haircuts, and check out Portobello Road for a lively, bustling market. London’s best-known shopping centres are the enduring classics of Harrods and Selfridges.

    A SHOPPER'S PARADISE: LONDON

Must-sees of the festive period include UK's biggest Christmas Market, Lincoln and Winter Wonderland that opens at the beginning of December on the bank of the Thames, near the London Eye, as well as Trafalgar Square and the area around the Houses of Parliament. Burberry, Harvey Nichols, Liberty, Selfridges and Marks & Spencer are the top choices for Christmas shopping in London, while Harrods, with its ever modern window displays, gourmet restaurants and cafes, opens up the doors to another world. A great way to spend the day is to browse the rows of stores on Oxford Street followed by a visit to an English pub. The designer stores and boutiques in Dalston offer wonderful examples of street fashion, while Hackney is full of outlet shops. The trendy atmosphere of Notting Hill is another world altogether. It might be worth mentioning that the sales that start in the city in December and continue until mid-January cover the city in a shopping frenzy. If you are in London during this period make sure you add Regent Street, Carnaby Street, Knightsbridge, Covent Garden and Mayfair to your itinerary.

With its art studios, exhibitions, fashion designers, vintage shops, parks, towers, palaces and the Royal Family, London is a metropolis that is home to people from all over the world and a city that it is always worth following closely.
