Atlasjet-Ströer Racing Team pilots Serkan Yazıcı and Kaan Özşenler continue battling for the big trophy. Determined to claim the top step of the podium in the Turkish Rally Championship, Atlasjet- Ströer Racing Team pilot Serkan Yazıcı and co-pilot Kaan Özşenler continue battling at full throttle.
The duo became second at the eighth leg of the Turkish Rallym Championship, namely the Hittite
Rally, organised 37th time this year by Ankara Automobile Sports Club (ANOK). This year again, the race was held in Bolu instead of its usual venue in Ankara. Atlasjet-Ströer Racing Team pilot Serkan Yazıcı and co-pilot Kaan Özşenler joined the race at the wheel of a Fiat Grande Punto S 2000 prepared in the ST Racing Garage. The duo did not take any risks throughout the nine laps as they noted that the second place points would be highly valuable for them at the end of the season.
Turkish Rally Championship comprises of ten races this season and ‘two worst races’ of teams will
be counted out at the final calculations. Serkan Yazıcı said, “Our chance for championship still
continues,” and added, “Every pilot wants to finish the race at the first step on the winner’s podium,
but sometimes this is not possible. Young pilot Yağız Avcı performed really well at the rally. To be honest, I didn’t want to take more risks. Because at this stage, we really don’t have any tolerance to lose any more points. Our target is to collect the top points from all the upcoming races. Now we are preparing for the Green Bursa Rally, to be held in Bursa. That is my hometown and I really want to achieve a victory in the town I grew up.” ST Racing Team director Yusuf Aramacı, who prepared the racing car Fiat Grande Punto S2000 used by Atlasjet-Ströer Racing Team duo, supported the experienced pilot and added that the season is prone to sudden surprises. Aramacı said, “The Green Bursa Rally, organised by Bursa Automobile Sports Club (BOSSEK) to be held in September, is highly
important for us. Endof- season calculations will count out two worst races of every pilot. This increases Serkan’s chance for championship. In any case, we need absolute victory at the Bursa race.”
