Organised by Turkish Republic Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the Directorate General of State Opera and Ballet, 7 Bodrum International Ballet Festival was held at the Bodrum Castle between August 19-30, 2009.
On August 19, the festival opened with ‘ Bin Kalp Atışı/ A Thousand Hearbeats’ by Ankara State Opera and Ballet’s Modern Dance Troupe (MDT), successful representatives of modern dance in our country.’A Thousand Heartbeats’ was premiered early this year and highly praised by art critics. Kafig Company coming from the guest country France performed ‘Tricote’ on August 22. On August 25-26 Antalya State Opera and Ballet performed the ballet piece entitled ‘ Harem,’ choreographed by Merih Çimenciler.
7. Bodrum International Ballet Festival was closed with the performance of Ballet National de Marseilles. Performing the closing show on August 29-30, Ballet National de Marseilles also staged three different pieces at the festival.
